Harris Academy Tottenham – admissions arrangements 2016/17

Harris Academy Tottenham are consulting on a change to their admissions arrangements to
take effect from September 2016. They say: ‘Our published admission number for Year 7 for
2015 was restricted to 90 because our buildings will only allow a limited number of students
to be accommodated in 2015/16 while remodelling takes place. However in 2016 the
remodelling should be complete and we will be able to admit a full year group of 180.
Therefore we intend to publish an admission number of 180 for September 2016.
We are undertaking this consultation in the period until 27 February 2015 so that the
Governing Body can make final decisions in March 2015 in the light of the comments they
receive.’

The full proposed admissions arrangements and details of the consultation are on the
Academy’s website at www.harristottenham.org.uk. If you have any
Views, please go on to this website and leave comments or a letter addressed to the
school at Technopark, Ashley Road, Tottenham Hale N17 9LN.

The Hour of Code 8th - 12th December

This week, students and teachers at Earlsmead will join millions of people all around the world taking part in an Hour of Code. The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics.

You can take part in the event at home by using the fantastic choice of tutorials available at code.org.

A visit from The Vale School

As part of Anti-Bullying Week we were really lucky to have Zach Opere, Jhonattan Goncalves, Joshua Malcolm and Neesha Quarry from The Vale School come to visit us.

The Vale  is a special school that supports children with disabilities and other learning difficulties.  The students came and gave a talk to our Year 5 and 6 pupils, explaining about their disabilities or learning difficulties.  We learnt a lot from them and it was great reminder to know that, instead of staring or whispering when you see them, they would much prefer it if you asked them about their differences.

They are also immensely talented and inspiring.  Check out their video below.  We are looking forward to seeing them again as they wanted to try our delicious lunches and we have been invited to visit their school.

Anti-Bullying Week 2014

Every year the Anti-Bullying Alliance coordinate national Anti-Bullying Week; a week where children and young people, schools, parents and carers come together with one aim: to stop bullying for all.

This year we are calling on the school community to take action to stop the bullying of ALL children and young people – including disabled children and those with special educational needs – children who are significantly more likely to experience bullying in schools and the wider community.

For more information see the Anti-Bullying alliance website www.anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk
