A visit from The Vale School

As part of Anti-Bullying Week we were really lucky to have Zach Opere, Jhonattan Goncalves, Joshua Malcolm and Neesha Quarry from The Vale School come to visit us.

The Vale  is a special school that supports children with disabilities and other learning difficulties.  The students came and gave a talk to our Year 5 and 6 pupils, explaining about their disabilities or learning difficulties.  We learnt a lot from them and it was great reminder to know that, instead of staring or whispering when you see them, they would much prefer it if you asked them about their differences.

They are also immensely talented and inspiring.  Check out their video below.  We are looking forward to seeing them again as they wanted to try our delicious lunches and we have been invited to visit their school.

Anti-Bullying Week 2014

Every year the Anti-Bullying Alliance coordinate national Anti-Bullying Week; a week where children and young people, schools, parents and carers come together with one aim: to stop bullying for all.

This year we are calling on the school community to take action to stop the bullying of ALL children and young people – including disabled children and those with special educational needs – children who are significantly more likely to experience bullying in schools and the wider community.
